Outreach

Collaborate with community

At Lotus Centre, we see tremendous value in working collaboratively with community organizations to increase opportunities for those in the special needs community to participate in meaningful music making.

We regularly engage in the activities below, but if you would like to explore something different we would love to hear from you! We are always open to discussing new and innovative ways to bring music to people of all abilities.

All outreach activities are offered free to the community.

Music Circle with the National Arts Centre Orchestra

This unique program allows participants to immerse themselves in experiencing the instruments of the orchestra through a combination of hands-on workshops and an adaptive performance.

For this program, we partner with special education classrooms, day programs, therapy centres, and more to bring the musical experience to you.

The program can be adapted for participants of all ages.  For more information on the Music Circle program, please visit the NAC Music Circle webpage.

Adaptive Concerts with Chamberfest

We are proud to partner with Chamberfest to present a series of adaptive concerts for neurodivergent and disabled audiences. Each concert includes accommodations such as pre-concert visual aids, a quiet space for sensory breaks, and flexible spaces for movement. We welcome all ways of enjoying the concert and interacting with the music. For more information about this initiative and upcoming concerts, visit the Chamberfest Adaptive Concerts webpage.
